Lal Shak (Red Spinach)

Red cabbage is a common vegetable of Bangladesh. Its leaves are usually round, thick and rich green, but have a bright red central stem. Red spinach leaves and stems contain a red liquid. It has a sweet, raw flavor and the texture is very fine. Red leafy vegetables help in bowel movement as they are rich in fiber. This fibrous food helps in proper digestion and is beneficial in curing colon cancer, diabetes, cholesterol as well as weight loss. Red vegetables can be eaten in many ways.

লাল শাক বাংলাদেশের একটি সাধারণ সবজি। এর পাতাগুলি সাধারণত গোলাকার, পুরু এবং সমৃদ্ধ সবুজ রঙের, তবে একটি উজ্জ্বল লাল রঙের কেন্দ্রীয় কান্ড রয়েছে। লাল পালং শাকের পাতা এবং কান্ডে লাল তরল থাকে। এটি একটি মিষ্টি, কাঁচা গন্ধ আছে এবং টেক্সচার খুব সূক্ষ্ম। লাল শাক মলত্যাগের প্রক্রিয়ায় সাহায্য করে কারণ এতে প্রচুর পরিমাণে ফাইবার থাকে। এই আঁশযুক্ত খাবার সঠিক হজমে সাহায্য করে এবং কোলন ক্যান্সার, ডায়াবেটিস, কোলেস্টেরল নিরাময়ের পাশাপাশি ওজন কমানোর জন্য উপকারী। লাল শাক নানাভাবে খাওয়া যায়।
